Day 2 began with the early waker-uppers making coffee and going to the beach and pool. I was not included in that group. As I have said many times....when I am queen, the day shall begin at noon! Eventually I did get motivated but chose to skip the pool and played frogger with the cars on US 1 to seek out a Diet Coke.
We left The Cheeca Lodge to complete the final 77 miles of our journey and stopped only briefly for some roadside souvenirs and coconut shrimp and to pair one of our phones so we could play Jimmy Buffett on Pandora. When I pressed the Bluetooth button the car reminded us that for our safety, pairing was not allowed while the vehicle was in motion. As we traveled, one of us got a phone call with some sad news about a friend's passing and the very next song was Iz singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"....his beautiful voice interrupting the silence in the car as if the universe knew that was the perfect song at that moment.
Fast forward to the M/V Brat....a 75 ft yacht. We cranked up the tunes, poured some adult beverages and spent the rest of the afternoon meeting our neighbors and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset. Will share yacht photos tomorrow. We Are On Island Time!
