The Cheeca Lodge / Islamorada (Upper Matecumbe Key)

Windy and cold with periods of sleet and snow and temperatures in the mid 20s for the next five days....well maybe somewhere but not here!  Day 1 started with plenty of sun and 78 degrees for the drive to the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada. Islamorada is a "village of islands" located on the islands of Tea Table Key, Lower Matecumbe Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Windley Key and Plantation Key. We stopped to eat lunch at Alabama Jack's.

If Heaven and the Garden of Eden had a baby it would be The Cheeca Lodge!  We enjoyed the beach and hot tub and had dinner and watched the sunset at Lorelei's. Great band and dee-lish key lime pie. We decided to try Key Lime pie everywhere we go this week...more on that later.
